Aimee Lewis Strain has been writing news and features in the Bay Area since 1999. She joined Patch.com in February to write all about things “mommy” in Belmont and San Carlos. Her weekly column, Mom Talk, can be found on both sites on Tuesdays.

Aimee and her husband Kevin live in San Carlos with their three beloved children, Connor, 6, Ashley, 4, and Carson, 2.

A Bay Area native, she attended Burlingame High School and the University of the Pacific, earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication, emphasis on journalism. She spent 11 years working in mainstream media, beginning in production at KTVU and moving on to work as a reporter and editor for numerous Bay Area newspapers and magazines.  Aimee worked for seven years as the managing editor of Bay City News, where she managed a 24-hour news operation covering the nine-county Bay Area. She currently teaches a video journalism class at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont and freelances articles on the side.

Aimee is a sucker for words. Aside from her family, stringing a sentence together to convey a message is what makes her tick. The advent of “Mommy Journalism” has enabled Aimee to blend her two passions: writing and family.
