Vacancy in The Pruneyard Shopping Center

In The Pruneyard Shopping Center there’s a good sized retail space next to Supinko’s that’s been sitting vacant for over a year.  What would you like to see here?

This space is on the side of the Trader Joe’s building next to La Boulanger and Supinko.  I wasn’t able to reach Pruneyard’s management to get any information about this space but was able to talk with Sunee, one of the owner’s of Supinko, the women’s boutique next door.

Sunee said Gemcraft Diamonds once occupied this space but moved to a smaller space in The Pruneyard.  This space was actually much larger but they partitioned off a third of it for Supinko.  She isn’t sure exactly how long its been vacant but thinks its been more than two years.

Sunee is hopeful that a good tenant will move in and bring more foot traffic to this side of The Pruneyard.  She says when the weather is good more people walk around and window shop, but sometimes foot traffic isn’t where it needs to be probably because of the vacancy next to them.

Supinko just opened 9 months ago.  It’s a family owned business between Sunee and her two siblings.  They’re not profitable yet but are getting there.  Her siblings have full time jobs so they’re subsidizing the business.  I really do applaud people that have the guts to start their own business, risking their personal savings, and working two jobs until the business can stand on its own.  If you’re in the market for affordable women’s fashions from L.A., handbags, or accessories check them out.
