Here's our "short list" of happenings this weekend in Campbell.

It's the weekend before school starts in Campbell and there's loads of fun things to do.

Here is our short list of happenings in the Orchard City this weekend. Did we miss something?

Friday, Aug. 16

Kick off the weekend with an artist reception at downtown Campbell's Snake & Butterfly Friday, Aug. 16 from 7-9 p.m. Artist Eve Noonan will be sharing some of her textile art and there will be light refreshments and live music.

Saturday, Aug. 17

Free ZUMBA Classes at Campbell Library on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Wear comfortable workout clothes and shoes. Bring your bottle of water and a small towel. No registration required.

Afterwards, head downtown for the The San Jose Firefighters Burn Foundation Firefighters Chili Cook Off, Saturday, Aug. 17 from 12pm-5:30pm.  This family-friendly event will include a classic car show, live music by Cold Suspension and The Snarky Cats and of course chili.

Don't feel like being downtown? Head over to Summerwinds Nursery Campbell for the store's free canning workshop on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 10:00 a.m. Learn from Master Preserver Leslie Brown what to buy, how to can and troubleshooting.
