Volunteer Search for Sierra LaMar Continues in Morgan Hill This Weekend

KlaasKids has been conducting the searches since March 27 in hopes of finding the missing teen.

Volunteer-led searches for missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar will continue Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those who would like to participate should check in at Burnett Elementary School (85 Tilton Road in Morgan Hill), according to the searches' organizer, the KlaasKids Foundation.

Volunteers should be at least 18 years old, and bring photo ID, said KlaasKids. They are advised to dress warmly, wear long pants, and sturdy, covered toe shoes.

“Searches will be by foot and be prepared for a variety of terrain from fields to dense woods including areas with increasing elevation,” wrote KlaasKids in a memo to volunteers.

The KlaasKids Foundation provides search-and-rescue services for missing children. They have been conducting searches for LaMar, who went missing on March 16, .

“The local community has come together and provided great support and volunteer efforts toward bringing Sierra LaMar home to her loving family,” KlaasKids wrote.  “The search efforts have been amazing with thousands of volunteers participating in the ongoing search for Sierra LaMar and keeping hope alive for her safe return.”

On Wednesday, the family of LaMar announced the creation of a website, www.FindSierraLaMar.com, which is dedicated to her search and safe return. New information will be updated as it becomes available.
