S.O.S. Fundraiser for Shea Shaw

Family of Campbell teen left in paraplegic state following tragic hit-and-run accident reaches out to community for help.

The family of Campbell teen Shea Olivia Shaw, left in a coma , continues to raise money to help pay for her medical expenses.

Shea, 17, a student at Los Gatos High School . Police have not been able to find the driver.

The once-vivacious girl with the pretty bright eyes, engaging smile and light brown hair , relies on a stomach feeding tube and needs physical therapy.

On May 6, by hosting a barbecue fundraiser at the San Jose Women's Club.

Then on May 20, a "Cut-A-Thon" fundraiser was also planned for Shea at the in Los Gatos. The event helped raise money to purchase a therapeutic chair to assist her needs as she continues her slow recovery.

But the family is once again reaching out to the public to continue to pay for her expensive care.

An S.O.S. fundraiser for Shea, the initials of the event in honor of her name—Shea Olivia Shaw—is being planned for 4-8 p.m., Sunday, July 22 at Gordon Biersch Restaurant & Brewery, 33 E. San Fernando St. in San Jose. Tickets are $40 for adults, $20 for students and 12 and under are free. The price includes 10 raffle tickets at the door to win a prize.

There will be live music featuring The Scott Barnhill Quartet featuring vocalist Sonya D and Emma Farabee, a live and silent auction and hors d'oeuvres.

Full bar and dinner service will be available during the event with portion of the proceeds going to sheashope.org, a nonprofit foundation.
