No Sleep Till Sunday

This is the weekend live music lovers have been waiting for. It's our own SXSW, over 50 bands, some with amazing songs online, spread over four nights and a dozen venues. Remember seeing Faith No More at Marsugi's? Or Primus at the Cactus Club? Well this is another chance at that lotto type music experience.

With all these choices to make here is a guide to get the most out of the C2SV Festival this Thursday through Sunday.

THURSDAY 9/26

Find out what's happening in Campbellwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The Phenomenauts. What better way to kick it all off than with a fun loving punk band. Lucily this show is the only one the only one this night so you can catch the whole set with no conflict. Café Stritch 11p.m.

Friday 9/27

Find out what's happening in Campbellwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Amonie. A local instrumental metal band? I'm in. San Jose Rock Shop 8p.m.

Dirty Ghosts. Now is where it gets hard. After hearing Dirty Ghost groove rock beats they made the must see list. Café Stritch 9 p.m.

The Limousines. They are from Campbell, they write really catchy pop songs, their new album is great. Right across the street from Dirty Ghosts so I will be jaywalking a couple times in this hour. Agenda Lounge. 9 p.m.

Deafheaven. I will only catch the tail end of their set, and I'll ride one of those rental bikes to get there, but everyone should see a San Franciscan Ambient Black Metal band at least once. Plus its fun to say Deafheaven. San Jose Rock Shop. 9:30 p.m.

Claw Hammer. Back on the Bike. Missed these guys in San Jose 20 years ago. Now I can see the unpolished grunge before it was sanitized for radio.Cafe Stritch. 10 p.m.

Lemonheads. A nice of change of pace, going back to 90's alt pop. Evan Dando brings his latest line up to show us how its done. Plus no walk. Café Stritch. 11 p.m.

Off! Punk rock at midnight, as it should be. The Blank Club. 12 a.m.

SATURDAY 9/27

Curious Quail. Ease back into it with some happy local rock and some coffee. Café Stritch. 2 p.m.

Bosnian Rainbows, Thee Oh Sees, Iggy and The Stooges. Another bike ride but you get to watch three important bands in the lovely (?) setting of St. James Park. Starts at 4:15 p.m.

Occult Wisdom. Stoner Doom Rock. What else do you need to know. San Jose Rock Shop. 9 p.m.

The Coup. Something about a rapper who sings with a full band is thrilling. Can't wait for this one. Pagoda. 10 p.m.

Sleepy Sun. Maybe the hardest to pull off. But it worth a try to hear first hand the update to the flower child meets feedback sound. Agenda Lounge. 10 p.m.

G.F.P. Punk rock at midnight by some real stars in the field. 12 a.m.

Sunday 9/28

Stumblebunny. Might be the Forrest Gump of rock and roll. With folks from The New York Dolls and John Lennon's Elephants Memory, this is a good reason to come back out. Café Stritch. 5 p.m.

Cartoon Bar Fight. Indie Folk from San Jose. Plus we are already there. Café Stritch. 6 p.m.

Rin Tin Tiger. Hanging out in a bar recently this young guy was telling me how much he loved his band, called Rin Tin Tiger. So why not. Café Stritch. 8 p.m.

What did I miss?

Follow me on Twitter @Rockthe408 to see if I can make all these bands as I live tweet the action. Also, check out The Coup in this video. http://youtu.be/acT_PSAZ7BQ
