Send in Your Farmers' Market Photos!

Santa Clara County supervisor Mike Wasserman's holding his annual summer photo contest and is looking for the three best hometown market photos in his district.

Say...summer squash!

Santa Clara County supervisor Mike Wasserman is holding his Summer 2012 Photo Contest and this time is hunting for the best local farmers' market photos in his district.

The winning three photos will be framed and displayed in his San Jose office. Shots of shoppers, musicians, fruits, flowers, veggies and anything that distinctly captures the spirit of a local market is perfect for submission.

While anyone can submit a photo, only pics of markets within Wasserman's district can be named a winner. Markets in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, San Jose and Los Gatos are all eligible for the top spots.

While Campbell isn't part of Wasserman's district, Elizabeth Sanford, a policy analyst at the supervisor's office, said residents can send in photos they took while at another city's market.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, August 1. All entrants must include their name, address and where the photo was taken. Submissions, limited to one per person, can be sent to Sanford at Elizabeth.Sanford@bos.sccgov.org.
