Root, Root, Root for the Home Team

Campbell Little League has a history and its teams have made it to the Little League World Series.

There's just something about a hometown little league.

According to Chuck Hildebrand, author of The Last Baseball Town, Campbell's league dates back to 1954 when its games were played at the old Campbell Grammar School. A year later it moved to and in 1963, the current complex was built.

The league has flirted with the grandest title, Little League World Series three times: 1970, 1976 and 1979.

The last of these runner-up years was caught on tape and shown here and shared on the Facebook Group: Did you play baseball in Campbell, Ca? We decided the footage was too cool to not share with the rest of our readers so check it out.

On Thursday, in the Division 44 Major Tournament of Champions. We don't know about you, but we're rooting for our boys to go all the way.

Best of luck out there, Campbell!
