San Jose CPR/First-aid Certification Class

American Heart Association Heartsaver First-aid/CPR/AED 

 

The American Heart Association designed this combined First-aid/ CPR/AED class (EMSA approved for CA Child Providers) for the busy professional. This class covers: Adult, Child, Infant CPR, choke-saving, how to use an AED (defibrillator), bleeding control, burns, allergic reactions, fractures, poisoning, epi-pen use, and other life threatening CPR & First-aid emergencies. This 5 hour combined CPR & First-aid class does not have a formal lunch break but there will be small breaks. 

 

Important: If you are a doctor, nurse, nursing student, dentist, EMT, or in the medical/healthcare field or going into the health care field, you should attend the AHA BLS CPR class instead of this one.

 

Audience: Child care providers (EMSA approved), teachers, coaches, foster care, social workers, camp counselors, babysitters, parents, nannies, construction, fitness trainers, general workplace. 

 

Length: 5 hours (no lunch break, but we will have small breaks)

Cost: $140 (cash or check made out to STS, NO CREDIT CARDS)

Payment: You can pay on the day of your CPR/First-aid class. 

Certification: AHA First-aid/CPR/AED card valid 2 years

Prerequisite: The CPR/First-aid Class is for renewal or first time.

Minimum age: We recommend over 10 years old.

 

AHA CPR/First-aid Book: 

You will receive the AHA American Heart Association combined First-aid/CPR/AED book on the day of the class. 

 

American Heart Association First-aid/CPR/AED Course

You will receive the CPR certification card on the same day of the class.

Other San Jose First-aid schools send the cards by mail, which can take a few weeks for you to receive. 

 

We do not cancel our classes (even if only one participant shows up). 

Other San Jose First-aid schools cancel the class with just one day’s notice if there are not enough students.

 

You only pay if you attend & you don’t pay until the day of the course. 

Other San Jose First-aid schools demand prepayment and offer no refunds if you cancel or have to reschedule.

 

You will receive the American Heart Association (AHA) certification card

There are San Jose First-aid schools that teach non-certified CPR classes, which are not accepted.

 

Our San Jose First-aid Training Classroom

We will have coffee, tea, soda, water, and granola bars. The American Heart Association CPR/first-aid instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, & supportive and I am sure you will have a nice time. 

 

English as a Second Language

The AHA CPR/first-aid classes are video driven so even if English is your second language, you will do fine. Our CPR/first-aid instructors will help you during the practice sessions and the training classes are very stress-free. We have instructors who speak Danish, Swedish, Spanish, and French. 

 

Infants & Children

Infants and children are not allowed in the classroom. Only people who are attending the class are allowed in the CPR classroom.

 

After you register for this CPR/First-aid certification class

We will email you a confirmation letter a few days before the class with all the details (check your spam folder). Please arrive to class 10 minutes before start time. 

 

If you need to cancel

No worries. Remember you only pay for the CPR/first-aid class if you attend, but please email us back if you cannot attend so we can give your place to someone else.

 

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
