The Red Rovers' baseball season got off to a strong start Monday afternoon with a homefield victory over East Stroudsburg's Cavaliers.
So strong in fact, that the game was called during the fifth inning. The final was 13-2, Easton.
Connor Mulrine was 3 for 3. Chase Bryant was 2 for 3. Scott Anderson, Jonathon Bisci and Connor Mulrine each batted in one triple. Colin Case and Connor Mulrine each hit a double.
Scott Anderson threw for four solid innings and tallied six strikeouts.
Alex Lawson was the closing pitcher.
The Caveliers' catcher, Santana, scored both runs posted by the Cavs and caught a difficult pop-up behind the plate. Though roused by a few good plays, ultimately, East Stroudsburg North's errors in the field proved detrimental to their good pitching.
It was the first game of the season for the Easton boys, who returned last week from the Bucky Dent baseball camp in Florida. Their first scheduled meet this season, postponed, will be held this Saturday, Hazleton at Easton.
