Nearly 24,000 marathoners finished the storied Boston Marathon on Monday, including four Campbell residents.
- Campbell's Kevin Pierpoint, 35, finished in 2 hours, 28 minutes and 38 seconds, or 2:28:38.

- Aya Van Wagner, 40, also a Campbell resident, finished in 4 hours, 16 minutes and 49 seconds, or 4:16:49.
The world's oldest marathon, the Boston Marathon is a prestigious event that runners spend months or even years training for, just to meet the qualifying standards for the grueling 26.2-mile journey.
Monday was the 115th running of the race.

Thank you for the comment. Me either. I mean, I knew that we have a very active community here in Campbell ... I see it on the trails and the various facebook feeds but it's really cool to see that they are active outside of Campbell too! And if anyone out there knows any of these runners, I'd love to do a follow up on them, their passion for running and the marathon. Send me an email at mayra.marcotte@patch.com.
