Campbell Little League 12-Year-Olds Play in Tournament of Champions

The 12-year-olds play second game in All-Stars this Thursday, June 28 in Sunnyvale.

It's not the first time a team has gone this far, but it's always welcomed.

According to Gary Tremelling, Manager of 12-year-old All-Stars there are 14 little leagues within District 44 (where Campbell LL plays) and each has an All-Star team. Campbell Little League has made it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. three times, but has yet to capture the title.

The 12-year-olds have made it, once more and will play their second game in the District 44 Little League Major Division Tournament of Champions this Thursday, June 28 at 5:00 p.m. in Sunnyvale.

"I am very proud of our team and the way the boys have come together," Tremelling said in an email.

In order to be part of the "All-Star" team, players are chosen by the players and managers in the Major Division, he said. Out of 49 players, 13 were picked for this team.

"We have only played one All-Star game so far (June 21) together and unfortunately lost 1-0 in 7 innings," Tremelling said. "Our next game is this coming Thursday and we are hoping for a victory. We have a great bunch of boys and we hope to take it to the end and win another flag for Campbell Little League."

Just wanted to make it clear that Campbell Little League has a 12 year old team All-Star team every year. They start out playing together after the regular season is over. The All-Star tournament is a Double Elimination tournament. If you lose two games you are out. Hopes are to win the District 44 Championship and continue on to the next tournament and end up in Williamsport, PA. Also, I wanted to add that Thursdays game is at 5:30. Thanks so much! I love reading your articles.

Hi Debbie! Thank you for the clarification on this (and for the kind words). I'm new to sports writing, so any help is much appreciated. Good luck on Thursday!
