Campbell Came Out to the Ball Game

Campbell Little League celebrates 59 years in 2012.

The weather stayed dry long enough March 17 for the Campbell Little League to kick off its latest season.

The stands were full, the fields were packed and the flags flew high.

The ceremony took place at the Robert Holman field, named after one of the league's coaches, says Dennis Belluomini, little league treasurer.

"He was a manager for a number of years and gave up his team to be director," Belluomini says. "He basically took care of the fields. He was always out there, whether pulling weeds or fixing a sprinkler, Bob was there."

The field was dedicated to him in 1980 for his 26 years of service to the league.

Thank you for sharing, Donald! Indeed, this little league truly has heart and history ...this I say from all the people I met and spoke with on Saturday. Congratulations on being a part of that. Keep on reading and telling us all about this fantastic part of the Campbell community.
