After Bad Pet Vet Experience, Campbell Man Launches Social Business-Referral Network

Ren Menon developed Goldenslate -- a referral service that folks can trust. Watch the video!

After a bad experience at a local veterinarian's office he found online, Campbell resident Ren Menon developed Goldenslate and a social-media referral service that folks can trust.

Goldenslate has created an innovative digital referral solution that allows consumers to share their preferred  service providers with friends and family.

Imagine asking friends and colleagues (or your wider network of "Goldenslaters") for recommendations and being able to search and see with one click the real estate agent, financial advisor, therapist, plumber, electrician, babysitter, dog walker or tutor that your friends use and trust.

Goldenslate (here on Facebook) was born out of Menon's frustration with current online referral options.

He was disenchanted, to say the least, after taking his sick dog, Grace, to a vet practice that he looked up online.

The vet made an incorrect diagnosis and treated Grace with an unnecessary invasive procedure, Menon said.  After seeing his beloved dog continue to suffer, Menon finally asked a friend to recommend a vet, who later properly diagnosed Grace's illness and brought her back to health.

Menon feels his story is not unique, and that every day, people choose service professionals without really knowing the quality of the provider.

He wanted to create a better way.

As Goldenslate co-founder, Menon and his team created a convenient, user-friendly platform that allows consumers to share referrals with friends and family, and allows business owners to request referrals and recommendations from satisfied customers and earn "trust" endorsements from satisfied customers.

According to co-founder, Matthew Martin: "Goldenslate strives to be the world’s most effective and trusted social referral exchange for consumers and businesses."

"We are going to be the one-stop solution for consumers to find trusted, high-quality service providers," he said.

Goldenslate.com and the Goldenslate app for iPhones launched this week in the San Jose market, with plans to expand to San Francisco and other cities in the near future.
