  • Whiz Kids' Ages: Freshmen through seniors, ages 15-18
  • Whiz Kids' School:  Prospect High School
  • Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: The mock trial team won the Santa Clara County Mock Trial Championship. School teams compete other school teams on prosecution and defense of a single, fabricated case. Students learn case law and “play” the role of attorneys and witnesses. The competition is the unscripted “trial” of the case.  Mock Trial is an academic competitive club. (crf-usa.org/mock-trial-program/) The program was created to help students acquire a working knowledge of our judicial system, develop analytical abilities and communication skills and gain an understanding of their obligations and responsibilities as participating members of our society. The program involves 36 California counties.
  • Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness (what made them successful?) Prospect High has made the quarter finals for the last 11 years straight! This year, the team defeated Saratoga High in the finals and will go on to represent Santa Clara County in the state finals in Riverside, March 25–27.
