Whiz Kid—Sabrina Diaz-Morgan

This Leigh High School student wants to pursue film at USC after graduation. She's also held several leadership positions at church and at school.

Hobbies: film and photography.

Key to Awesomeness:

Sabrina would like to attend the University of Southern California's Film School after she graduates from high school.

Her favorite scripture in the Bible is 1 Timothy 4:12. "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 

"It's all about the journey. Without it, you would never reach your goal," writes this whiz kid when asked what is helping her accomplish and achieve in her young life.

"I make a good first impression by working hard, being on time, and being friendly," she added.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
