Rising Authors: Danaxe Osorio, Blackford Elementary School

Campbell Union School District's Rising Young Authors series includes published works by 13 local students.

The ninth annual includes 13 students from throughout the district.

Danaxe Osorio is the Blackford Elementary School winner, with her book, Danaxe's Story: A Travel Through Time.

Campbell Patch asked seven questions of the fourth grader and here is what she had to say.

Campbell Patch: Why do you like to write?

Danaxe Osorio: I like to write because it gives me freedom.  It is not like a chore or homework where I have to do stuff.

Patch: What do you like to write about?

Danaxe: Something to do with adventures.

Patch: What is your favorite book?

Danaxe: “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales.”

Patch: Do you have a favorite character? What do you like about them?

Danaxe: The Little Red Hen. Because she talks too much like me.

Patch: Do you have a favorite author? What do you like about them?

Danaxe: Kathryn Otoshi because she does simple art and her stories always have a message about being positive.

Patch: What is your book about?

Danaxe: It’s an adventure book about two girls traveling through time and seeing things in the past and also in the future.

Patch: Why is writing important to you?

Danaxe: It is important to express myself in my own way.
