Rising Authors: Corey Dillon, Capri Elementary School

Campbell Union School District's Rising Young Authors series includes published works by 13 local students.

The ninth annual Campbell Union School District Rising Young Authors Series includes 13 students from throughout the district.

Corey Dillon is the Capri Elementary School winner, with his book, The Lucky Find.

Campbell Patch asked seven questions of the elementary school student and here is what he had to say.

Campbell Patch: Why do you like to write? 

Corey Dillon: I like to write because it shows your imagination on paper.

Patch: What do you like to write about?

Corey: Non fiction, science fiction, and adventure.

Patch: What is your favorite book?

Corey: The 39 Clues is currently my favorite series. Book #10 Into the Gauntlet is my favorite.

Patch: Do you have a favorite character?

Corey: Dan and Amy from the 39 Clues are my favorite characters.

Patch: What do you like about them?

Corey: Dan is funny and Amy is smart. She loves to read books and so do I.

Patch: Do you have a favorite author?

Corey: Yes, Margaret Peterson Haddix.

Patch: What do you like about them?

Corey: She writes adventurous mysteries, and is very thoughtful in her writing.

Patch: What is your book about?

Corey: The Lucky Find is about me on an adventure to spend a million dollars!

Patch: Why is writing important to you?

Corey: Writing is important to me because it spreads out my imagination. Then, when I get bored I can read it over and over.
