Will 2012 be as successful a year was for Moreland School District?
Well, to kick things off a teacher within the district was recently recognized.
Fifth grade teacher at Payne Elementary School Wendy Johnson received the Goldin Foundation for Excellence in Education Award for her "innovative and dedicated approach to supporting students, her respected and valued leadership in the classroom and on her school campus, and her District-wide support," a release from the district stated.
Along with the recognition, Johnson also received a $500 prize.
"From after-school tutoring to leading peer and parent presentations on technology and math, Wendy Johnson has positively impacted hundreds of students, teachers, and parents," the release reads.
