Facility is one of the largest sales tax generators in City of Saratoga, according to college officials.

West Valley College's bookstore, Viking, 14000 Fruitvale Ave., in Saratoga has reopened in the newly renovated Campus Center, located behind the Fox Building.

The temporary bookstore space in the Applied Arts and Sciences building is no more, according to college officials.

The bookstore is the only part of the renovated Campus Center building that is open. The rest of the building is still undergoing renovations and will be open in time for the start of the spring semester, Jan. 30, according to WVC's Multimedia Operations Coordinator Scott Ludwig.

The campus bookstore is one of the largest generators of sales tax revenue in the City of Saratoga, Ludwig said.

It's managed by Barnes and Noble via a contract with the college, Ludwig added.

The bookstore sells traditional college items to students and the general public such as books, student apparel such as hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, school supplies, room essentials, backpacks, college apparel and school spirit accessories.

Students can also purchase books online. E-books, which are digital, downloadable versions of physical textbooks, are now 60 percent off and can be read on Macs or PCs via an e-Reader application.

WVC, located in Saratoga, has an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students. Along with Mission College in Santa Clara, both institutions enroll more than 26,000 students annually. The district serves residents of Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara and is governed by a seven-member board.
