Yin Yoga

Join Lorien Neargarder as she leads this weekly class in the basics of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is often called the "silent practice" because it uses passive, long held floor poses to stimulate past the muscular tissues and into the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, preparing one to sit for long periods in meditation; the long held poses also cultivate mindsfulness. This class, held at the Gyalwa Gyatso Buddhist Center, is suitable for all levels, including beginners. There is a suggested donation of $10 per class.
