Bay Area Debate and Speech Academy is teaching a Public Speaking Mastery Classes for Adults which focus on eliminating that public speaking phobia and train you to present your ideas clearly. You will learn to formulate your thoughts and articulate them in a confident professional manner. Our teacher focuses on each individual student's process and offers training that reach each student's individual goals. Students will be taught skills such as breath support, vocal strength, clear and precise articulation. Our teacher is specifically specialized in accent modification.
Our teacher Lisa Wentz holds a Master's degree in Voice and Speech Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. At Central she studied with the most respected Voice and Speech teachers in Europe and the U.S. including Cicely Berry (40 yrs Head of Voice, Royal Shakespeare Co.), Patsy Rodenburg (Director of Voice, Guildhall), and Kristin Linklater (Columbia University). Lisa earned her AmSat Teaching Certification in Alexander Technique in 2005. Lisa is the only person in California with a Master's Degree in voice and speech studies, and teaching certification in Alexander Technique. She has given seminars at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education conference, the Alexander Technique Education Center, and at the American Society of Alexander Technique Teachers conference.
Since 2008 Lisa has worked full time with business professionals, teaching leadership, presentation skills, and accent reduction. Lisa has coached executives and project managers from Fortune 500 companies such as Symantec, Genentech, Salesforce and Google.
Considered one of the top coaches in the San Francisco Bay Area / Silicon Valley, She has been featured as a Public Speaking expert in the Wall Street Journal, L.A. Daily Journal, The Association News , French Connection-SF and "O" magazine this fall.
She is the author of the upcoming book titled Accent Reduction for the Individual and serves as an associate editor for the International Dialects of English Archives.
Our classes are kept small so that each student receives individualized attention from the professor while still able to interact and network with other professionals.
We offer session in September:
September 4th-20th 2012, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays
Introductory 3 week class for $600
September 8th -- October 12th 2012, 1pm -4pm
Class meets Saturdays
Introductory 6 week class for $ 900
