Drama Department students performed a short piece from the school's Spring Musical, "9 to 5."

Things got a little lively at the Campbell City Council meeting Tuesday night when a group of Westmont High School Drama students came in and took the stage.

Under the direction of Director Jeff Bengford, the group of students performed a portion of the school's Spring Musical, 9-5, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton for the council.

"Every year we do a fall play and then student-directed pieces and we end the year with our big, Spring Musical and this year we are doing Dolly Parton's 9-5, which is actually the California High School Premier of this Broadway and we are the first high school in Northern California to be doing it," Bengford told the council.

The show kicks off March 29 and 30, at 7:30 p.m. and continues on April 4-6, 7:30 p.m. There is a Saturday Matinee on April 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Westmont High School, 4805 Westmont Ave.
