Unemployment Low in Campbell

The unemployment rate fell in both Santa Clara County and the state.

The unemployment rate for Santa Clara County continues to edge downward, just 5.7 percent in December, according to figures released Friday, Jan. 24 by the California Employment Development Department.

That compares favorably with the rest of the state with an unemployment rate of 7.9 percent. The national number is 6.5 percent.

Several job categories posted gains including manufacturing, construction, health care, trade, transportation and utilities.

Trimming jobs were farming and private educational services.

  • Campbell  4.9%
  • Cupertino  3.6%
  • Gilroy  8.7%
  • Los Altos  2.8%
  • Los Gatos 3.7%
  • Milpitas  5.9%
  • Mountain View  4.7%
  • Palo Alto  3.7%
  • Saratoga  2.8%
