At about 10 a.m. Sunday morning, the Santa Clara County Fire Department began to receive phone calls about a pole on fire, which one of the callers described as having transformer, at Quito and Pollard Road in Campbell.
Soon after, calls began to trickle in to dispatch about lights being out in the area.
County Fire confirmed the fire and that engines were on scene. They confirmed that power outages typically follow transformer fires.
Patch has called PG&E for further information about the cause, the number of customers affected and when power may be restored.
