Sonoma Chicken Coop Seeks Live Entertainment Permit and More

What to expect from tonight's Campbell City Council meeting.

The first Campbell City Council meeting of the month will take place tonight, 7:30 p.m., at 70 N. First St. and has recognitions as well as a new live entertainment permit application.

First up on the agenda's consent calendar are congratulations to the 2011 Citizen of the Year Cary Stover and the 2011 Business of the Year . The two will also be acknowledged at the Chamber of Commerce's Celebrate Campbell event in March 24, 6-9:00 p.m. at .

The next item is the approval of a Santa Clara County Open Space Authority grant that will reimburse the city $81,629 for specific components of its newest park project, on Union Avenue.

Under the "New Business" section of the agenda, the is requesting a live entertainment permit to allow the business of eight years in the downtown to offer live entertainment Monday through Sunday from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Jeff Starbeck wants to provide customers with musical entertainment from solo artists or two to three-piece bands, playing mostly jazz, folk and light/classic rock.

Starbeck's existing conditional use permit approved in 2002 limits live entertainment at the establishment from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

If approved, the council has the ability to rescind the permit if a public nuisance forms or if there is a significant rise in calls for service at the establishment.
