Romney Visits Bay Area Tonight
The Republican presidential contender will be at a private fundraiser on the Peninsula.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is making a visit to the Bay Area today for a private fundraising event in Hillsborough, according to his campaign.
Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, will be attending a fundraiser at 4:45 p.m. at a private estate at Strawberry Hill, according to an invitation for the event posted on a website for a local Republican group.

Tickets for the event, which is closed to media, cost between $1,000 and $50,000 per person, campaign officials said.
Hillsborough police said parking will be prohibited and traffic will be delayed in certain parts of the town between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., including Skyfarm Drive, Macadamia Drive, Redington Road and parts of Eucalyptus Avenue.

Residents are advised to use alternate routes through the area, police said.
President Barack Obama is also expected to visit the Bay Area for a fundraiser prior to the November election.
The president's campaign announced Thursday that Obama will be visiting San Francisco on Oct. 8.
