Campbell Reacts to the Second Presidential Debate

Residents commented on Tuesday night's debate via Twitter and Facebook.

The second Presidential debate was a more contentious one than the first round and Campbell Patch readers on social media responded and shared all about it for its duration.

According to our non-scientific poll posted on the site during the debate, Romney clinched the victory with 98 votes or 56 percent while President Barack Obama trailed behin with 74 votes or 43 percent (results as of Oct. 17, 12:43 a.m.).

On Facebook, Obama was named the victor:

There you have it. The second presidential debate. In your opinion, who do you think came out the victor?

  • Brenda Tierney Obama
  • Vanessa Sh The president!
  • Julia Jensen "Mr. President, have you checked your pension?"
  • Sinead Mc Donnell Borgersen I have but not as big as yours so doesn't take as long to read. Oh snap. President took it home
  • Cynthia Gonzalez Sebastian Obama : )
  • Carolyn Kori Sanders Obama:-)
  • Joe Kenny Obama!
  • Ami Bruce Obama.
  • Lydia Habr Obama for sure.

Anyone watching the debate? Thoughts?

  • Rachael Bellah Yes, I wish Gary Johnson was in this debate. lol
  • Monique Acosta Ya. I think they're both a couple of mooks.
  • Eddie Martinez Obama won he kicked ass this time
  • Gloria Reyes I think Obama "let the dog out" on this one. I believe he has recovered some points he lost. I also see that Romney still has a problem with beating around the bush before he gets to the answer. admittedly, they both do.
  • John Sotelo like it or not, we'll get the government we deserve.
  • Campbell Patch @John Sotelo: Interesting comment! Care to elaborate?
  • John Sotelo both candidates have undesirable traits and mostly feed from the same trough. we have become tolerant and accepting of such behavior. therefore, we are complicit. therefore, we are deserving of nothing more than the monster we have created.

On Twitter, this is what readers said:

No standing behind podiums this time. Better? Worse?

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth. Thank you for sharing your story and memories! Very truly yours, Karen Hunt Great grandaughter of the owner of the Original Fabers Cyclery.
