Campbell Mayor Proclaims June as LGBT Pride Month and More: Council Speaks

The Campbell City Council will meet Tuesday evening to discuss several issues that may interest you.

The Egyptian FestivalThe St. George Coptic Orthodox Church at 396 Rincon Ave. in Campbell plans to host a carnival, The Egyptian Festival, the last weekend in August to raise money for the church.

This will be the church's third carnival, and it will include arts and crafts, games, food booths and live entertainment.
The council is scheduled to consider the church's carnival permit as well as a fee waiver that would reduce the permit fee by 50 percent.

- Friday Aug. 26 5-9 p.m.
- Saturday Aug. 27 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sunday Aug. 28 noon-4 p.m.
Dell Auto Body & Refinishing owner Carlos R. Costa is looking to sell cars.
Costa seeks a permit from the city that would allow his business at 950 Camden Ave. in Campbell limited retail sales of used cars (no more than three cars at a time), according to the City Council Report.
The council is scheduled consider his permit.
Campbell Mayor "issued a proclamation declaring June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month," according to a council report.
The council is scheduled to officially note the mayor's proclamation, which:
"encourages all residents to seek common ground and to treat others with dignity and respect, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, national or ethnic origin," the council report states.
