A two-alarm fire in Campbell reported in a two-story condominium complex at the corner of Shelley and Bascom avenues left two family members injured, said retired Santa Clara County firefighter Brian Floyd.
Four people were in their condos at the time of the Campbell blaze, he added and two suffered minor burns. The fire was reported to have started at around 7 p.m. at 231 Shelley Ave. About 10 fire engines responded, Floyd said.
One firefighter, however, received a cut to the head during this incident and required five stitches.
"A lot of the fire units that were fighting were secondarily dispatched to the big fire in Campbell," Floyd said. "They worked very hard this afternoon. I tried my best to keep them hydrated."
Santa Clara County Fire Battalion Chief Robert Smith said the fire gutted an bedroom and roof and attic area in the two-story townhouse. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, he said.
Smith also said the American Red Cross was helping the Campbell residents find housing Monday evening.
