Two Men Still At-Large After Attack on Winchester, Near Rincon

Campbell PD is still searching for two suspects involved.

An incident involving four people Friday near Winchester Boulevard at Rincon Avenue left one person arrested and two still on the street.

officers received a call at 2:24 a.m. Friday from a man who reported that he had been jumped and punched several times by two unknown suspects.

After the two suspects fled, a third suspect, Steven Leza, 27, pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. Leza then fled the scene in a red station wagon but was stopped near Winchester Boulevard and Latimer Drive, Campbell police Capt. Dave Carmichael said.

Leza was positively identified by the victim and was arrested and booked. The knife was recovered during the arrest, and it does not appear that the victim knew the attackers.

His injuries were relatively minor, and he told police that he'd take himself to the hospital, police said.

The police department does not have information at this time to prove the incident was gang-related, Carmichael said.
