Transient Arrested After Allegedly Robbing U.S. Bank on Bascom Tuesday Afternoon

A 56-year-old homeless man, with a prior bank robbery conviction, was arrested today after allegedly robbing U.S. Bank on Bascom Avenue in Campbell, police said.

The Campbell Police Department were called at 3:30 p.m. to the bank at 1998 S. Bascom for a reported robbery that had just occurred -- by a suspect who was seen fleeing on Bascom towards Hamilton Avenue.

Based on the suspect's description provided by bank employees, officers arrested Mark Flanigan, who allegedly was still in possession of the roughly $1,200 of stolen cash, police said.

Flanigan was recently released from custody and is on parole for a prior bank robbery, police said. He is now heading to the Santa Clara County Main Jail to be booked on suspicion of robbery charges.
