'Tis the Season for Scams

Fortune Tellers can take advantage of the emotion of the holidays.

A quick public service announcement by the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Over the past five years, the DA's office had approximately 13 fortune teller fraud cases filed, reported the DA's Public Information Officer Lisa McCrary.

"Most people who are victims of this crime are embarrassed so it does not always get reported,"McCrary said in an email. "We want to educate the public that they can report this crime. And our office will prosecute."
