Thwarted Vending Machine Burglary, Public Defecation and Road Rage: This Weekend's Police Wrap-Up

Friday, Aug. 5

1:52 a.m.

1800 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A 23-year-old was contacted trying to enter cars that were not his. He was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked.

7:10 p.m.

500 Block of E. Hamilton Ave.

A 24-year-old was contacted. He was slow to respond and displayed symptoms of intoxication and was booked.

2:30 a.m.

1000 Block of W. Hamilton Ave.

A suspect left a party. He punched out the window to a car.

6:05 a.m.

700 Block of Kenneth Ave.

A 32-year-old and 33-year-old suspects entered the residence and the victim confronted them. Both suspects fled and were chased by the victim. An officer spotted the 32-year-old and he was taken into custody and determined to be under the influence.

Campbell Police located the 33-year-old suspect and found him also under the influence and in possession of methamphetamine. A third suspect, a 32-year-old woman, was found in possession of stolen property and identity theft materials. She was also under the influence and they both were booked.

10:00 p.m.-7:20 a.m.

300 Block of Budd Ave.

An unknown suspect took an Acura sometime during the night.

Saturday, Aug. 6

4:13 p.m.

W. Campbell Avenue

Officers responded to a report of a 49-year-old man and 21-year-old woman tampering with a vending machine. The two were associated with a stolen Honda.

The woman was spotted walking away from the vending machine. The man hopped the fence. She was located and detained in handcuffs. The man was located and taken into custody. It was determined that both suspects were attempting to pry open a soda machine to steal the money inside. The man had a warrant and the woman was on probation. Both were arrested.

7:45 a.m.

1600 Block of Dell Ave.

A 45-year-old suspect was seen urinating and defecating. He was contacted, cleaned up his waste and was cited.

Aug. 3, 10:30 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

W. Campbell Ave.

An unknown suspect entered the building and took an iTouch.

2:39 p.m.

800 Block of Emory Ave.

A 48-year-old suspect was contacted by police. She had a warrant and was arrested.

7:39 p.m.

1600 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A 53-year-old was contacted by police and found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked.

8:28 p.m.

200 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

A suspect pushed, tackled and punched a victim. He fled prior to the officers’ arrival.

11:46 p.m.

2100 Block of Abbey Ln.

During an argument, the suspect grabbed the victim by the wrist.

12:30 a.m.

Orchard City Drive at First Street

A 22-year-old suspect and a victim were downtown drinking. The suspect got upset and punched the victim. The victim left and flagged down a police officer. The suspect was located and taken into custody.

1:40 a.m.

200 Bock of E Campbell Ave.

Two suspects, 32-year-old and 26-year-old were intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The 32-year-old grabbed the victim and began to choke him. The 26-year-old also choked and punched the victim in the face.

Both suspects were held until officers arrived.  The victim is pressing charges. The 32-year-old was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. The two were booked.

 2:28 a.m.

North First Street

The suspect was reported to be involved in an apparent road rage incident. The suspect was challenging a motorist to a fight. The suspect followed the motorist to the Campbell Police Department where officers observed him driving and made contact with him. He was found to be DUI and was booked.

Sunday, Aug. 7

August 4

1400 Block of W. Campbell Ave.

An unknown suspect passed a counterfeit bill after purchasing food.

12:01 p.m.

900 Block of W. Hamilton Ave.

The suspect pushed and shoved the victim.

3:30 p.m.

300 Block of Hacienda Ave.

A 41-year-old was contacted in her car and was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself and was arrested.

7:00 p.m.

Bascom Avenue at Apricot

A 17-year-old and 15-year-old were reported to be smoking marijuana. Upon contact, the 17-year-old was found to be in possession of marijuana packaged for sales and additional packing material. The 15-year-old was found to be in possession of less than one ounce. Both were cited to parents.
