Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 14-year-old boy suspected of killing his older sister in Oakland's Chinatown on Thursday and are offering a reward for information leading to his arrest.

Mario Toliver Jr. is believed to have fatally shot his older sister, identified by relatives as 17-year-old Justice Toliver, at their home in the 80O block of Franklin St. around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, according to Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson.

Police said today that they are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the boy's arrest.

The 14-year-old is described as a black boy who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Police say the teen is considered armed and dangerous since the weapon used in the killing has not been recovered.

A cousin of the siblings, 22-year-old Marianna Gaston, of Oakland, said Thursday that she had been told that Mario was angry with his sister for bleaching his clothing.

Anyone with information about this crime or the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call Oakland police at (510) 238-3821.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call a toll-free police tip hotline at (855) TIPS-247 or may text TIP OAKLANDPD to 888777 on a cellphone.
