Suspicious Van Follows Young Girl, Disappears

Campbell Police were unable to locate a white, 1980s van that was seen following a young girl near Walnut and Wendell drives.

On Thursday, Campbell Police responded to a report that a suspicious white van was following a young girl.

According to the report, a suspect in his 30s, with short dark hair, dark eyes, medium complexion and goatee was driving his off-white or champagne-colored 1980-90s van in the area of Walnut and Wendell drives at 7:30 p.m. on July 5. The suspect started to follow a 12-year-old girl around the block while she was riding her bicycle.

The suspect followed the girl to her house and then drove slowly by the house twice, the report said.

The girl's parents called police, but waited three hours before doing so, Campbell Police spokesman said.
