This week's questions from Campbell Patch readers were answered by Campbell Police Captain Charley Adams.

1.  How are you so courageous and fearless in a world such as it is?

Police Officers have a strong sense of duty and a desire to provide assistance to the community. They constantly train and plan for emergencies which gives them the courage to step into dangerous situations and keep our communities safe.

3.  What's up with the wafting "skunky" smells near the Campbell Park basketball courts?

The "skunky" smells are coming from skunks. They are most active in the evening and night hours as skunks tend to avoid brightly lighted areas. There are many of them living in the wooded areas along the creek and par courses throughout the county.

These areas are home to a variety of wildlife including raccoons, opossums, skunks, and occasionally coyotes. Skunks will often spray when they feel threatened. The strong smell can linger in the area for many hours and will travel with the wind.
