Sheriff's Arrests: Drug Crimes, Robbery

A look at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office's arrest and booking reports for May 26-28, 2012. The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Conspiracy to Commit Crime

  • Israel Rios, 38, of San Jose, May 25, 10:50 p.m., at Rt James and Vernon in Mountain View, for conspiracy to commit crime and first-degree burglary. Bail set at $10,000.
  • Gabriel Laureano, 29, of San Jose, May 25, 10:50 p.m., at Rt James and Vernon in Mountain View, for conspiracy to commit crime and first-degree burglary and driving with privileges suspended or revoked. Bail set at $10,000.

Vehicle Code Violations

  • Inez Lerma, 25, of Gilroy, May 26, 1:30 a.m., at Vineyard and Monterey in San Jose, for using wireless telephone device while driving and driving with privileges suspended or revoked. Bail set at $6,000.
  • Valerie Garcia, 32, of Milpitas, May 28, 4:53 p.m., at 18298 Coyote and Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill, for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.

Possession

Stefan Savicic, 21, of Davis, May 26, 1:20 a.m., at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Finch Avenue in Cupertino, for possession of a controlled substance and using/being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail set at $16,000.

Cynthia Leu, 19, of Davis, May 26, 1:20 a.m., at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Finch Avenue in Cupertino, for possession of a controlled substance and using/being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail set at $15,500.

Thomas Bryan, 27, of Campbell, May 26, 9:50 a.m., at 869 Sharmon Palms in Campbell, for parole hold and possession of a controlled substance/paraphernalia.

Jose Zamora, 19, of San Martin, May 26, 11 p.m., at 14460 Colombet in San Martin, for possession of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer. Bail set at $6,000.

Israel Zamora, 20, of San Martin, May 26, 10:30 p.m., at 14460 Colombet in San Martin, for possession of a controlled substance and resisting and vandalism damage of more than $50,000. Bail set at $11,250.

Michael Williams, 34, of Berkeley, May 27, 12:30 a.m., at 20590 Homestead Road in Cupertino, for rearrest, probation violation, making/passing fictitious check and possession of narcotics, controlled substance.

Charles Williams, 34, of Oakland, May 27, 3:40 a.m., at 20900 Homestead Rd. in Cupertino, for using/being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics, controlled substance. Bail set at $15,000.

DUI

Sean Gambill, 20, of Sunnyvale, May 27, 1:30 p.m., at 13851 Stevens Canyon Rd. in Cupertino, for vandalism of less than $400 and DUI.

Protective Order Violation

Alberto Chacon, 28, of Gilroy, May 27, 2:45 p.m., at Santa Teresa and Bailey in San Jose, for violation of protective order, vandalism, violation of court order to prevent domestic violence, using/being under the influence, possession of a controlled substance. Bail set at $28,500.

Domestic Violence

Mario Correa, 26, of Hollister, May 28, 2:45 a.m., at 80 Highland Avenue in San Martin, for inflicting corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant. Bail set at $25,000.

Robbery

Douglas Webster, 26, of San Jose, May 26, 11:21 a.m., at 15466 Los Gatos Blvd. in Los Gatos, for first-degree burglary, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and battery on former spouse, fiance or cohabitant. Bail set at $60,000.

Drug Crimes

  • Manuel Duenas, 24, of Gilroy, May 26, 8:03 p.m., at 1500 No. Shoreline Blvd. in Mountain View, for transporting/selling a controlled substance. Bail set at $25,000.
  • Latryce Parker, 32, of San Jose, May 26, 10 p.m., at E. Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way in Campbell, for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, controlled substance, battery on any person on public transportation and parole hold.
  • Roberto Ortega, 42, of Gilroy, May 26, 10:15 a.m., at 1st Street and Wren in Gilroy, for using/being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail set at $5,000.
  • Daniel Olson, 46, of Los Gatos, May 28, 8:45 p.m., at 1 Mt. Umunhum in Los Gatos, for using/being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
  • Jeraymond Luna, 23, of San Martin, May 28, 10:15 p.m., at 225 Cox in San Martin, for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance/paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Bail set at $51,000.

Hit-And-Run

Renee Rubio, 56, of Cupertino, Nov. 9, 2011, 7:39 a.m., at Miller and Greenwood in Cupertino, for a hit-and-run.

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
