Law enforcement agencies across Southern California are on high alert as the manhunt continues for a suspected cop killer, whose wallet was found in San Diego early Thursday morning.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department, while warning locals to be on the lookout for the suspect, is not involved in the investigation and is not changing procedures in light of the situation, a spokeswoman and officer said.

The San Diego Police Department, however, is in the middle of the hunt after the wallet of the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, was found along Harbor Drive early Thursday morning and turned into police.

Christopher Jordan Dorner, a former Los Angeles Police Department officer, is the primary suspect in the shooting deaths of an Irvine couple Sunday, and the shooting death of a Riverside police officer Thursday.

According to City News Service:

Dorner, 33, posted a multi-page manifesto online Monday, saying he didn't mind dying because he already died when he was fired from the LAPD for allegedly making false statements about his training officer. He blamed his termination on an LAPD captain who represented him at the hearing that preceded it. That former captain was the father of the basketball coach killed with her fiance Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol has put out a statewide alert for Dorner, who is described as a 6-foot-tall black man who weighs about 270 pounds and drives a gray Nissan Titan with the California license plate 8D83987.
