Second Massage Parlor Charged with Prostitution

An undercover officer was offered sex for money at the spa, police say.

Campbell Police have busted another alleged prostitute operating out of a massage parlor, after residents complained about the place -- including one of the customers, who was unhappy with his negotiations for sex.

Police arrested a woman working in the Bronze Spa at 825 W. Hamilton Ave. after she offered an undercover police officer oral sex for $100 during his $50 an hour massage. The spa's owner was cited for allowing the lights off and having a door locked, both against the city's codes for massage businesses.

This is the second arrest at a Campbell massage parlor in the past five months. The other case, against Angeline's Rejuvenation Spa on Bascom Avenue, was heard before the city council at its last meeting. The council revoked its permit. However, its owner is appealing the case in Santa Clara Superior Court later this month, claiming that she was innocent of the violations of having a locked door and supplying condoms.

In that case a customer told the council that he had sex there after his therapist went next door to buy condoms.

In the Bronze Spa case, Sgt. Gary Berg said that his department was forwarded a complaint from a client that he was unhappy with the negotiations for sex at that spa. He filed the complaint with the state's board that certifies massage therapists, the detective said.

The Bronze Spa is still operating in a strip mall near Payne Elementary School, Berg said, while the city is working on getting rid of its permit to operate.

That spa, which opened in Oct. 2012,  has a video showing a legitimate massage here.
