Fireworks were seen before, during and after the fire, San Jose Fire reported.

San Jose Fire Department responded to a roof fire at the 2200 block of Shamrock Drive Wednesday night.

The fire was on the Campbell-San Jose border so both San Jose Fire and Santa Clara County Fire responded to the blaze, said San Jose Fire Capt. Howard Morton in a fire report.

A total of nine vehicles, including fire engines were dispatched to the fire, the report states.

Neighbors called the fire in at 10:26 p.m. on July 4 after seeing several airborne fireworks throughout the night, the report stated.

Upon Arrival, County Engine 11 assessed the situation and began “knocking down” the fire on the roof of the second story home. No injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished at 9:43 a.m. July 5.

Morton noted in his report that there were numerous fireworks in the air before, during and after the fire.

Har-Bro Construction responded to the scene and secured the roof with a sheet of plywood.

The home had a smoke detector but because batteries were missing or the unit was disconnected, residents were not alerted to the fire, the report states.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
