Public Urination, Burglary and Broken-Into Washing Machines--This Week's Campbell Crime Blotter

Thursday, June 16

5:30-7:30 p.m.

400 Block of Memphis Dr.

An unknown suspect smashed a windshield with a rock.

8:14 p.m.

1700 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A 22-year-old suspect was suspected of stealing alcohol. He was located in the shopping center and determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself.

1:45-4:30 p.m.

180 Block of Echo Ave.

An unknown suspect attempted to gain entry into several washing machines in an attempt to take coins from the machines.

12:05 a.m.

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A 40-year-old suspect was causing a disturbance and was intoxicated. When they arrived, Campbell Police noticed he matched the description of a robbery suspect. He was booked for the robbery and for parole violation.

2:10 a.m.

First Street and Campbell Ave.

A 33-year-old suspect slapped a victim several times in the face. He was too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested.

2:19 a.m.

200 Block of Union Ave.

Two 26-year-old suspects were seen urinating in the parking lot of the complex and were confronted by the victim. One suspect argued with the victim and then punched the victim in the face several times.

Both suspects fled on foot but were later located. The first suspect was positively identified and the victim is prosecuting. The second suspect was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested.

4:45 p.m.

2500 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

The suspect approached the victim and began talking with her. At one point, the suspect asked her for two dollars. When she refused, he grabbed a small purse attached to her backpack and attempted to pull it free. She struggled for a short period but he was able to take the purse and flee.

4:08 p.m.

1600 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

The suspect attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s checking account using her stolen driver’s license. When the bank employee questioned her about the differences in the drivers’s license and the signature, the suspect fled the scene.

May 15-June 16

170 Block of Curtner Ave.

An unknown suspect cut the lock to her storage unit and then secured it with a different lock. When the victim cut the new lock off, she discovered some of her boxes were missing.

12:00 p.m.

130 Block of E. Campbell Ave.

An unknown female suspect took a victim’s cell phone.

Wednesday, June 15

 9:10 p.m.

1600 Block of S. Bascom Ave.

A customer unknowingly passed a counterfeit $100 bill while making a purchase.

2:00-3:15 p.m.

1200 Block of Ridgeley Dr.

A resident left their rear French doors and rear bedroom slider door unlocked and their dogs inside. Two laptop computers, cameras and a 21-inch flatscreen computer monitor were taken. No one was seen or heard. None of the neighbors heard the dogs bark.

3:09 p.m.

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A suspect was stopped by loss prevention after concealing food items in his pants. He paid for one item and left the store without paying for the concealed items. He had an outstanding arrest warrant.

1:25 p.m.

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A suspect was stopped by loss prevention after concealing alcohol in his backpack and leaving the store without paying for the items.

11:00 a.m.

200 Block of E. McGlincy Ln.

The owner of the business called to report that a stripped2000 Silver Honda Accord was parked in the lot. San Jose Police Department made contact with the reporting party and determined it was an unreported stolen vehicle.

5:06 p.m.

2300 Block of S. Winchester Blvd.

A 55-year-old suspect was stopped by loss prevention after concealing food items in her purse.
