Both Lanes on Winchester Blvd. Opened as Police Continue Investigation of Fatal Collision

Campbell police interviewed driver of vehicle that struck and killed pedestrian Saturday morning; looking for a possible second vehicle.

All lanes on Winchester Avenue are open as Campbell police officials continue to investigate the death of a pedestrian who was struck by an oncoming vehicle early Saturday morning, according to Campbell Police Captain Charley Adams.

Adams said police located a vehicle involved in the collision and interviewed the vehicle's owner and are currently looking for a possible second vehicle which may have been involved.

At about 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person lying in the road on Winchester Boulevard near Chapman Drive. Officers located a man in the far right lane of southbound Winchester Boulevard south of that intersection.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released his identity.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Adams said.
