Pedestrian Killed on San Tomas Expressway Identified

The 31-year-old pedestrian killed Monday at 11 p.m. has been identified as Isaac Zuniga Pichardo.

A man who was struck and by a car while crossing the San Tomas Expressway in Campbell on Monday night has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Isaac Zuniga Pichardo.

Pichardo, 32, was hit north of Budd Avenue by a southbound 2001 Ford Expedition driven by a 19-year-old San Jose man, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Pichardo attempted to cross the expressway at about 11 p.m.,  and the driver was unable to avoid hitting him, according to the CHP.

Investigators determined that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol and drugs, but they believe Pichardo was intoxicated.
