Pedestrian Killed on Interstate 280 in San Jose Friday Morning

Accident blocked lanes at 280 and 87 for two hours Friday morning.

Bay City News —  A pedestrian was fatally struck on the connector ramp between northbound Interstate Highway 280 and southbound state Highway 87 in San Jose early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian was struck shortly before 5 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said. The name of the pedestrian was not immediately being released.

The connector ramp and the far right lane of northbound Highway 280 were blocked for nearly two hours while authorities investigated the death. The lanes reopened by 6:50 a.m., CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.
