Men with Guns on Hamilton Part of State Parole Operation

Several residents called Campbell Police this afternoon to report activity involving guns drawn on Hamilton Avenue.

Campbell Patch Twitter follower Adam Vales tweeted at us "Accident in middle of Hamilton/Winchester have gun pulled on suspect."

Apparently, Vales wasn't the only one witnessing the activity unfold this afternoon around 1:30 p.m

Capt. Dave Carmichael said they had received several calls of people who described several men in plain clothes with guns drawn on Hamilton Avenue near Winchester Boulevard.

"When our officers responded, they learned that State Parole officers were conducting an operation," Carmichael said. "They did not need any assistance so our officers cleared."

Is this article saying that the State Parole Officers were conducting a planned operation? If so, why didn't they inform Campbell Police first? That's really bad planning.

ES: Thanks for the comment and questions. We spoke with Capt. Carmichael this morning and he said the state officers were after someone with a warrant and that they did not inform Campbell PD of the search. Carmichael said by the time Campbell PD had received calls about this, the suspect was already in custody. Hope this helps clarify.
