Man Killed on Saratoga Avenue Friday Identified

The 89-year-old Mohammad Dormishian was crossing Saratoga Avenue when a Campbell woman hit him.

A man who was struck and killed by a car as he tried to cross Saragota Avenue in San Jose on Friday afternoon has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 89-year-old Mohammad Dormishian.

Dormishian, a San Jose resident, was hit by a 2006 Scion as he was crossing the southbound lanes of Saratoga Avenue south of Graves Avenue at about 2 p.m., according to police.

He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Scion was a 26-year-old Campbell woman, according to police. She cooperated with investigators.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Drugs and
alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
