Man Killed on Campbell/San Jose Border

A man found shot to death in San Jose on Tuesday evening has been identified by police as 34-year-old Steve Hyman.

Police received a report at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday about shots fired and a person down in the area of Loma Verde Drive and Eden Avenue, east of Winchester Boulevard, San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol said.

Officers found Hyman, a San Jose resident, with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Randol said.

No suspects have been identified in the case, and the department's homicide unit is seeking leads, Randol said.

Hyman's death marked San Jose's third homicide of the year.
