Q: Is it legal to ride your bike on San Tomas Expressway (In the driving lane or the shoulder)?

Yes it is legal to ride a bicycle on the shoulder of San Tomas Expressway.  The bicycle must be traveling in the same direction as traffic. It is not legal for the bicycle to ride in any of the lanes designated for motor vehicles, only in the shoulder/bike lane portion of the roadway.
