A 1-alarm fire this weekend took place at Wesley Manor apartments, Santa Clara County Fire Department spokesperson said.
An unintentional fire occurred in the toaster cabinet area of the apartment, causing $20,000 in property damages and $3,000 in content loss.
According to the fire department's release on the incident, the occupant set her purse down on the toaster's lever, activating it and preventing it from releasing.
The call came in at 10:19 p.m. Saturday night and 19 units, both Santa Clara County Fire and San Jose Fire, responded. The fire was cleared at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
No injuries were reported.
